April can be a little overwhelming for our souls. Take into account the awful hay fever, superfluous Coachella posts (it looked kinda fun… okay?), and confused weather, and all of a sudden I just want to curl up in my bed and finish reading the book that I bought for my L.A. trip but only had the chance to read on the plane. I mean, there’s nothing really wrong with all of the above (I should just remember to take a Reactine with me to work), but Coachella got me thinking about how ridiculously over-saturated Instagram is with the same kind of, well, shit. I can only see so many photos of people sitting on their beds with their legs perfectly displayed at the best angles before I get really bored, you know?
So that’s where this idea of a “visual experience” (as fridayluck commented on one of my YouTube Videos) comes in. I’m not sure about you, but 5 years is a long time. And after blogging for a quarter of my life, I’ve become especially exasperated with what blogging has become–Instagram’s slow and slightly outdated third cousin, twice removed. But with that being said, it’s now clear to me that I’ve fallen into a routine of blogging without pausing to think about how I should instead be trying to provide readers with a visual experience rather than a concocted recipe. After all, how else can I share what’s in my head with you? Blogging should never be boring. It should be immersive. And it should be interesting. So, for those of you who have been reading this blog for a long time, I apologize that it has taken me so long to realize that just posting for the sake of posting was good enough for you. Because it’s not. There’s so much that I want to do and share with all of you, and the prospect of it all truly excites me, but for the mean time, here’s me wearing New Classics Studios in honor of Earth Day. And fun fact, you can take 20% off and plant a tree with all orders over $150 at New Classics Studios for today only.
